🎫🥇 The Golden Ticket: Critically Acclaimed Theater Series Opens Ticket Sales

The Hermitage is back for the 8th year of immersive theater. Each year the grounds and historic buildings of the Hermitage Museum and Gardens have transformed into the set of a fantasy story that unfolds around you as you explore.

Past years have sold out show after show with attendees raving about the experience that is in a category of its own. The Hermitage has transformed into a prep school with werewolves, a Hansel and gretel house, mysterious dream clinics, and a whole lot more.

This year though, producer Patrick Mullins, is whisking attendees off to the “fantastical realm of Midas, where all that glitters truly is gold. The Gilded Age adventure features not only an all-star cast, but visual and musical works by some of the region's most notable artists.

The culmination of original writing, acting, set art, and music, is an exemplary showcase of the region’s talents and a rarity in its own right.

Oh yeah, and there’s a bar available too. Icing on the cake. You can grab tickets here.

🏀 🏒 Get to The Game: Hitting Up NFK Sports

We might be the largest market in the country without a major league sports team, but we’ve got plenty of sports to catch around town. Double collegiate teams and two minor league teams supply more games than most of us can keep up with.

Take ‘em out to the ball game, there’s nothing quite like it. Here’s a quick refresh on where the teams stand and where you can grab tickets.

🏃‍♀️ 🏛️ Political Races Mad Dashes for Open City Seats

Danica Royster, the Norfolk Councilwoman representing super ward 7, announced that she will not be seeking re-election this November. You can check out her statement here

The announcement follows closely behind a similar announcement from Andria McClellan earlier this month. It leaves both super ward seats without an incumbent and indicates major change headed for City Council regardless of the outcomes this November.

Potential candidates have until June 18th to officially file for office, but the starting gun has already fired for these races. Expect more announcements in these races soon.

As previously reported, Mayor Alexander has picked up a challenger in Tommy Leeman, and Jeremy McGee has announced for the super ward 6 seat.

School Board elections are also coming up for both super wards, but there’s been no public announcements in those races yet.

Got tips on potential candidates for office? Drop us a line.
