Hampton Roads PrideFest Weekend: A Vibrant Celebration of Love and Unity

This weekend, Hampton Roads is set to transform into a kaleidoscope of colors, music, and unbridled joy as it hosts the highly anticipated PrideFest Weekend. From June 21st to 23rd, the region will come alive with a series of events designed to celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity, and amplify the voices of the LGBTQ+ community.

The festivities kick off on Thursday evening with the Pride Weekend Kickoff Party at The Wave. This high-energy event promises to set the tone for the weekend, with pulsating music, dazzling lights, and a sense of camaraderie that is sure to ignite the spirit of Pride.

Friday, the 11th Annual Pride Block Party takes center stage at the Norva. The theme is "Camp Pride" celebrating the spirit of the Met Gala and Ballroom Culture. DJ Sets from local artists and drag queens accompany headliner Baby Weight to dance the night away. Outrageous outfits are highly encouraged.

The pinnacle of the weekend is the 36th Annual Hampton Roads PrideFest & Boat Parade. The highlight, of course, is the “only Pride boat parade” in the nation, which will feature a dazzling display of creativity and self-expression as decorated boats sail along the Elizabeth River. Onshore PrideFest brings entertainment, vendors, and fun activities for all thousands of all ages. The theme is '“United in Pride” combining solidarity with celebration.

PrideFest is headlined by Todrick Hall and Mariah Counts but features over a dozen other musical artists, Drag queens, and performers.

Attendees can even experience the party aboard the American Rover, which will host a special PrideFest Sail through the parade. This unique event offers stunning views of the waterfront while guests dance to the sounds of a live DJ and an on-board bar. It's a chance to experience Pride from a different perspective, surrounded by the beauty of the Elizabeth River.

On Sunday, the festivities move to Virginia Beach for the 4th Annual Pride at the Beach. This will take over Neptune's Park with a beachside oasis celebration featuring live entertainment, community vendors, curated DJ sets, food trucks, and VIP experiences.

The weekend concludes with Pride Night at the Virginia Beach United soccer game. With tickets priced at just $10 for adults, $7 for kids, and free entry for children 5 and under, it's the perfect opportunity to come together with the whole extended family. Participating fans will be decked out in rainbow gear to cheer for pride.
