Folk Phenomenon Alert: Bonny Light Horseman's Powerhouse Performance is Imminent

The Supergroup Strikes Again

If you don’t know Bonny Light Horseman, you have about 36 hours to get acquainted before the folk supergroup kick off their album release tour with a performance at the Virginia Arts Festival Perry Pavilion Stage in downtown Norfolk.

Bonny Light Horseman are celebrating the release of their stunning new album, "Keep Me on Your Mind / See You Free," which was released this past Friday. .  This is their most ambitious record, featuring 20 songs and clocking in at just over an hour long. It’s true to the beautiful compositions and harmony’s that I love about their two previous records - but just as captivating as always and draws you in for a full album spin.

You might recognize Eric D. Johnson from Fruit Bats or even The Shins, Anais Mitchell from her Grammy Award-winning musical Hadestown, or Josh Kaufman from his collaborations with artists like Taylor Swift and Bob Weir, or his band Muzz, which released an incredible album in 2020.

Together, these three powerhouse’s make up the folk supergroup Bonny Light Horsemen.

A few of my favorite songs:

Singing to the Mandolin:

Deep In Love:

The Roving:

Fiar Annie:

Comrade Sweetheart:

As a music lover - Bonny Light Horseman are one of my favorite bands that I’ve come across in the last 5+ years and I am so excited to see them play in Norfolk!

Tickets are available online and can be purchased through the Virginia Arts Festival website HERE!
