Slices For the Stacks: Del Veccs, the Campus Classic
Tucked off of Hampton Blvd in the heart of the ODU side of town, Del Vecchios is an ideal spot for your pre-exam slice or a late-night meal any day of the week.
The Menu
Aside from the traditional pie fare, Del Veccs’ extensive menu ranges from delectable appetizers like garlic knots and fried ravioli to hearty dishes such as chicken parmigiana, lobster ravioli, and stuffed shells. Be sure to check out their calzone and Stromboli section with the option to create your own or choose from a wide variety of fresh oven-baked subs.
Pizza-A-Plenty
Del Vecchios has mastered every pizza option, from size, toppings, and style.
The Chicago style is a 2″ deep pizza stuffed to the brim and topped with an entire crust and marinara.
The New York stuffed option is also 2″ deep but features a lattice crust. Have a bunch of hungry mouths to feed? Grab the New York-style 24″ Party Buster and layer it with all the toppings they desire.
Have a look at their specialty pizzas for a more adventurous option. Try the Astoria, a pie with no sauce but featuring flavorful garlic, mozzarella, tomato, spinach, feta, and kalamata olives. Some of the more unique picks are the cheeseburger, Philly cheesesteak, and taco pizzas.
In a pinch for time during your lunch break? Specials include either two slices and a drink for $5.49 or a slice, salad, and drink for $5.75.
Del Vecchios is a well-established stronghold of greasy goodness in the ODU area–for good reasons: they feature all of your local pizza shop standbys among a few unique specialty items at reasonable price points. Whether you’re an ODU student in need of a midnight study snack, looking forward to Friday pizza night with the whole family, or just someone looking for a deliciously filling meal, Del Vecchios aims to scratch that craving for classic pizza shop grub.
