Eat Your Heart Out For Restaurant Week In Downtown Norfolk
Grab your date, your late-night dinner crew, or that bud you’ve been meaning to catch up with. It’s Restaurant Week in Downtown Norfolk.
Granby Street, the region’s gastrological center, has been a hub for culinary creativity for decades. The arch-lined streets, walkable blocks, and small shops form a top-tier ecosystem for restaurants. Over the years, it’s spawned a food scene that’s grown to encompass all of Downtown and other parts of the 757. So there’s no surprise that the twice-annual celebration of restaurants stirs up crowds of Virginians.
Downtown Norfolk Restaurant Week features twenty restaurants with spectacular specials and multi-course meals at fixed price points. Diners get to choose from $35 or $45 dinner menus as well as $15 lunch and brunch menus. The event runs through January 22nd.
“Our Downtown chefs love Restaurant Week just as much as the customers” said Sam Black, director of marketing and communications for Downtown Norfolk Council. “Chefs get the opportunity to have fun showcasing their culinary skills with these special Restaurant Week menus, and diners can enjoy the meals and the savings.”
While every restaurant has something special on its menu, some of the highlights include Omar’s Carriage House’s crispy duck confit and lobster bisque, Glass Light Hotel’s ricotta cavatelli, Codex’s Lamb Ragu and Olive Oil Cake, and Capo Capo’s Veal Osso Bucco. Entertainment is also on the menu at some establishments. Prime 255, for example, will have live jazz to accompany their menu of crab-topped burgers and Hennessy Glazed Chicken.
All those spots you’ve been meaning to try. All the times you walked past a storefront and saw that incredible dish. Well, this is an official invitation to live out your fine dining dreams. It’s finally time to Eat Your Heart Out in Downtown Norfolk.
